Arthur Johnston, 91, of Blackridge, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, May 12, 2016, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband for 65 years of Beverly (Stein) Johnston. Loving Father of Bruce Johnston (Charlie Wessel) and Deborrah Johnston (Fiancé David Kammenzind). Grandfather of Laura (Josh) Thompson and Caroline Tobin. Great-Grandfather of Lily and Hunter Thompson. Art served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Business, and spent his career as the Payroll Manager for United States Steel Corporation. In retirement, he was an avid golfer and proud of shooting a hole- in- one at the Schenley Park Golf Course. Gardening and working in the yard were lifelong passions for Arthur. He and his wife were active volunteers for Stephen Ministries and the Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh. Services and interment will be private for the family at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
