Cunnings, Marian Adele




Marian Adele, age 100, of Hampton Fields, formerly of Verona, died Thursday evening, June 30, 2016. Born August 24, 1915, to the late Oliver T. and Osie Molleston Cunnings, and raised by her brother, E. Russel Cunnings and her mother in Verona. Graduated from Verona High School in 1934. Marian was employed at the former Oakmont-Verona Dairy, and PNC Bank as a teller, where she was employed for 30 years, retiring in 1980. Relatives and friends enjoyed her creative Christmas cards she made every year since 1964. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh, where she was a deacon and a volunteer in the church office of Dr. Bruce Thielmann. She also did volunteer work for Dorn Checkley at the Pittsburgh Coalition Against Pornography, and a member of the Pittsburgh Civic Chorus. Marian is survived by her nephew, Edward and his wife, Jean Cunnings; niece, Carol and her husband, Barry Kruise and niece, April and her husband, James Maddox. Survived by dear friend, Janice Fowkes, and Betty Bauer. Friends and relatives are invited to a chapel service today, Saturday, July 2, 2016, in the Verona Cemetery, Oakmont at 11 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to BURKET - TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., Oakmont.
