Emilio L. Zegarelli, 89 of Mechanicsburg (formerly of Springdale) passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016 with his family by his side. He was born on March 2, 1927 in Springdale to the late Ascensio and Catarina Zegarelli. Emilio served in the US Navy during WWII. Leaving Springdale in 1948, he traveled to New York City to marry the girl of his dreams, Laura Castelli. He and his wife spent the last 31 years in Mechanicsburg with all of their children living nearby. While living in Springdale, he was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. He was very gifted with his hands, and was able to make, fix, and create many things. He was a very talented auto body technician. Emilio is survived by his wife of 67 years, Laura (Castelli) Zegarelli. Loving Father of Christopher Zegarelli of Dillsburg, Glenn Zegarelli of Mechanicsburg, Sharon (Jeffrey Alan) May, Sr. of Mechanicsburg, and Donna (Joseph) Carnazzo of Mechanicsburg. Grandfather of Jill (Galen George) Brown, Sr. of Perry County, Jeffrey Alan (Nichole) May, Jr. of Mechanicsburg, Laura (James) Seitz of Mechanicsburg, and Erica Carnazzo. Great-Grandfather of Galen George Brown, Jr., Laura Rose Brown, Jeffrey Alan May, III, and Madelline Laura Seitz. Brother of the late Mary Catella, James Zigarelli, Lena Stein, and Edith Hill. Friends and relatives will be received on Thursday, August 4, 2016 from 3-8 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC. 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont. Mass of Christian Burial Friday, August 5, 2016, 12 noon St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Springdale. Interment will follow with military honors in Deer Creek Cemetery, Harmar Twp. Donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
