Savio, Eleanor M. (Scassera)

Eleanor M. “Tootsie” (Scassera) Savio, 85 of Oakmont (originally Larimer Avenue) passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, February 5, 2017. Daughter of the late Joseph and Maria Christina Scassera. Beloved wife for 64 years of August Savio. Loving Mother of August D. Savio (companion, Beth), Angela (William) Jollie, and the late Larry Savio. Grandmother of Marissa (Oscar) Aguilera and Carina Jollie. Great-Grandmother of Josué and Anjelica. Sister-in-law of Dino and John Savio and also survived by many nieces and nephews. Sister of the late Victor, Jack, Phillip, Vincent, Joseph, Mary, Margaret, and Rita. Affectionately known as "Mama," she took great pride in serving as the matriarch of her family, as well as literally serving Sunday dinner. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and unconditional love. Eleanor loved to dance, and despite physical limitations, her brave spirit always shone through, and inspired everyone she met. A devout Catholic whose faith allowed her to dance gracefully through the many struggles in her life, Eleanor now dances with the angels. Friends and relatives will be received on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 from 2-8 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC. 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont.
