Capone, David M.

Age 78, of Harwick (formerly Oakmont), passed away on March 8, 2017. Beloved husband and best friend for 56 years to Helen (DeRenzo) Capone. Loving father of Christopher Capone (Mary Jane Wilson); Natalie (Andy) Gillespie; Julie Capone (Nick Creany); Andrew (Stephanie) Capone. Adored grandfather of Kelly, Ian, Elia, Emmett, Nazarene, Adalia, Jace, Kelsey, Natalie, and Sophie. Dear son of the late Carmen R. and Margaret Lynch Capone. Son-in-law of the late Dominic and Antoinette DeRenzo. Brother of Mary Ann (Harry) Sperling and Donald (Carol) Capone. Brother-in-law of the late Louise DeRenzo. Dave never met a problem he couldn’t solve, inventing many devices over a 40-year career at MSA, ThermoLab/Thermox and Ametek. He graduated from Central Catholic HS (1956) and Univ. of Pittsburgh School of Engineering (1960). He was a lifetime Professional Engineer and member of ASME and ISA. He loved a good joke, detailed explanations, great mysteries and classic cars—having personally restored many to vintage condition—and was recognized by his always-in-style crewcut. Dave was a devoted Catholic and lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. At his request, there will be no visitation. All are welcome to a Mass of Christian burial at Our Lady of Victory Church (Harwick) on Tuesday, March 14 at 11AM followed by a committal service at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Hearing Loss Association of America-Pennsylvania, an organization that helped Dave communicate and stay connected despite profound hearing loss.
