He was the beloved husband of Renee (Grande) DiMatteo; father of Joseph, Jr. (Dana), Mary, and Dante (Kayla). Joe was the “Pap Pap” to two grandsons that he adored, Marco DiMatteo and Leonardo DiMatteo. Joe was preceded in death by his brother Gaetano (Mildred) DiMatteo, and parents Nicola and Maria DiMatteo. Joe is survived by his brother Frank (Joyce) DiMatteo, and numerous nieces and nephews. Joe grew up in Wall, PA and graduated from East Allegheny High School in 1974. Joe went on to Duquesne University where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy. On his own, Joe opened The Medicine Shoppe in Penn Hills in 1979, and then one in Oakmont in 1985. Joe’s passion for health and helping others led him to earn certificates in Clinical Nutrition, Homeopathy, and Naturopathy. Joe was the owner and host of the nationally syndicated radio program, Ask Joe DiMatteo. Joe’s life was dedicated to educating people about health, but his main focus was spreading the word of God.
