Pizzica, Daniel Ralph

November 12, 1941 – July 9, 2017. Daniel Ralph Pizzica was given life by his Creator and was born on November 12, 1941, the child of the late Daniel and Helen Pizzica. On January 18, 1942, he received the gift of Holy Baptism and became a child of God. In 1955, he publicly confessed and confirmed his faith and received the precious gift of the Lord’s life-giving body and blood. On August 31, 1968, he received the gift of a beloved companion in his wife, Inge, in holy matrimony, and was blessed with 48 years of married life together. He was blessed with the gift of children: Lori (Bryan) Borger, Brian (Natalie) Pizzica, and Adam (Hannah) Pizzica. He is survived by his wife and children and the blessing of seven grandchildren: Sarah, Joshua, Samuel, Anna and Isaac, and Alaina and Zane; his brothers, Ken (Flo) Pizzica, David Pizzica; and sister, Mary Silverthorne; and nieces and nephews. God blessed Dan’s life with many special people as he served God in his vocation: at home, at Epiphany Ev. Lutheran Church in Penn Hills and in recent years at Christ’s Lutheran Church in Murrysville, PA, and in his 43 years of work at Mellon Bank as a Database Administrator. Dan graduated in 1959 from Penn Hills High School and then served four years in the Air Force, achieving Airman First Class. On July 9, 2017, Dan, at the age of 75 years, fell asleep in Jesus. God blessed Daniel Ralph with a holy death and took him home to rest in the arms of Jesus. Dan will be remembered for his joy in loving his family and his Lord. He enjoyed cheering on his favorite Pittsburgh sports teams, playing golf, listening to oldies music, tracking down bargains at weekend garage sales, sitting in the sun reading books, and bike riding with his wife. The Lord gives and the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord. We give thanks to God our Father through Jesus Christ, our Lord, for our brother, Daniel. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. Friends and relatives will be received on Tuesday, July 11 2017, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the BURKET - TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., 421 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont.
