Brady, Helen M.

Age 86, of Pittsburgh, died with family surrounding her on May 22, 2018, at Little Sisters of the Poor Care Facility. Born on May 12, 1932, in Williamsport, PA, daughter of the late Paul and Helen Quigley. Helen was a dedicated nurse for many years with an early career in Philadelphia, PA. She also enjoyed time as an airline attendant where she began a lifelong habit of serving others. Throughout her life, Helen was known by all for her love and generosity to the old, the sick, the infirmed and the wayward. As a faithful and loyal servant to the Catholic Church, she ended her life's volunteer vocation as a minister of communion at Little Sisters of the Poor, where she also resided. Helen's most exceptional vocation was the dedication she showed to her husband of 56 years, and her five children. She enjoyed playing bridge, trips to the casinos, and trips to the beach. She was an avid golfer and sports fanatic. Helen will be greatly missed by her beloved family and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted husband, John T. "Jack" Brady who died in 2013. She is survived by her children, Patricia Rodella, Janice (Dwayne) Apple, Cornelius (Stacy) Brady, Michael (Jo Anne) Brady, and Lisa (Christopher) Rickert; her sister, Janice Overdorf of Williamsport, PA; sister-in-law, Bernice Brady; cousin Paul Kane; nieces and nephews, 14 grandchildren, six great- grandchildren, and scores of friends. Respecting Helen's wishes, there will be no visitation. A Catholic Mass will be held at Little Sisters of the Poor, Gloria Chapel, at 1028 Benton Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15212 on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at 11 a.m. A Celebration of Life will take place immediately after in the L.S.O.P Auditorium for lunch and celebration. Helen's family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, for the love and care they so generously gave. Please make any donations in Helen's name.
