Caroline M. Butler, 96, of Lower Burrell, died Monday morning, Jan. 28, 2019, at the Willows Presbyterian Senior Care, Oakmont. She was born July 6, 1922, in New Kensington, the daughter of the late James and Adele Rosencheck Miller. She was the wife of the late Donald U. Butler for 37 years; mother of the late Donald Butler; and mother-in-law of Carol Butler, of Lower Burrell; grandmother of Amy Klaus, of Lower Burrell, and Carol (Ron) Howes, of Vandergrift; and great-grandmother of Ella Klaus and Abbey Howes. When Caroline was 8 years old, all the family moved to Florida, where she lived until 1939 when she moved to New Kensington. She was employed for Alcoa as a secretary until her marriage in 1942 to Donald U. Butler. She was employed by the Penna State Employment Services for 23 years until her retirement in 1975. She was a resident of Lower Burrell until her death. Caroline was a member of Grace Community Presbyterian Church, Lower Burrell, since the early 1960's, and served on numerous committees and was also an Elder in the church. Along with her late husband, she was very active in Sports Car Club of America and held a national license in timing and scoring for national races. Her love of traveling took her to most of the United States, Great Britain, Europe and Greece. An avid bridge player, she was a member of many bridge clubs, loved bingo and crossword puzzles. No services or interment are planned. Arrangements are being handled through BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES INC., Oakmont.
