Marjorie Shipe, 92 of Penn Hills passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2018. Beloved Wife of the late William P. Shipe. Loving Step Mother of Elizabeth Mae Forest AKA Marilyn Shipe Cole, Jeffrey P. Shipe, Gregory P. Shipe and wife Kathleen, and the late William R. Shipe and surviving wife Eugenia Shipe. Step Grandmother of 7 and Step Great-Grandmother of 7. Sister of Mary Lou Burtell and the late Richard Firsching. Marjorie was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Verona. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Seton Hill College, Greensburg, where she was an Assistant Professor in the Art Department from 1965-1968. She later obtained a Master’s Degree of Education from the University of Pittsburgh. Marjorie was very active in the Pittsburgh art community where she was a member of the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh, serving on the board of directors and exhibiting her works in one person and group shows. Friends and relatives will be received on Friday, November 30, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES INC. 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont. Additional visitation will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 9 a.m. until time of parting prayers at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. St. Joseph Catholic Church, Verona.
